“You’re not going to make it because of the way you’ve treated me all these years,” she tells him, accusing Jax of making therapy appointments and acting cool in front of the cameras – all while thinking he would “text the s- -t out of me” once filming was over.
Brittany Cartwright is fed up with her “toxic situation” with her husband Jax Taylor — and let him know it in the season finale The valley.
Throughout the season, viewers saw the couple fight, knowing that they had broken up in real life before the premiere aired. While Tuesday’s episode started with them still very much together, it didn’t take long for things to change in a big way.
In the middle of the hour, Brittany wondered if her husband felt bad “for being mean to me” after surprising him with a visit from his sister before the opening of his new bar. Of course she was referring to him accusing him of being drunk during a recent casting trip.
“I feel like you’re not even attracted to me sometimes,” she told him then. “It hurts me a little to know that every time it came time for our schedule to try for the baby this month, you were so against it. It really hurt my feelings.”
Although he admitted to having doubts about having another child, she told him that they needed to have better communication on topics like that. “As much as I want to have a child, even I don’t know how you and I can bring another baby into the world if we don’t fix these things in our relationship. I don’t want that for our future,” she told him.
Although it’s clear that the opening of the bar was supposed to mark the end of filming, cameras picked up six months later – as news broke that Brittany and Jax were living apart. “I didn’t see that coming, sorry,” Taylor said as he sat down for a confessional, becoming emotional as he said, “I never thought I’d be in the position I’m in Right now.”

Brittany explained that “a lot has happened between me and Jax” since the cameras stopped rolling – saying that “things seemed to get worse and worse.” She said she eventually moved into an Airbnb with their son, Cruz, because Jax refused to leave the house.
“It shows how selfish Jax is. The fact that I had to move with Cruz, instead of him,” she added, saying it was “too toxic a situation” to stay there any longer . “He would go to the bar, come home and have these horrible hangovers that would make him as bad as a f***ing snake,” she added, while Jax admitted the two “didn’t get along “.
“I reached this point where I started to notice everything he was doing to me. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I asked myself: What am I doing? Why am- I here?” » she continued in a confessional. “There have been a lot of things I’ve taken Jax back for. I’ve been cheated on, I’ve been disrespected. I’ve been humiliated. I’ve endured a lot of pain in this relationship. It’s been very public, the pain I had to face, I can’t take it anymore.”

Jax, meanwhile, was seen telling one of his teammates that he needed to go to therapy – and was hoping to get some antidepressants to “take the edge off.” He added: “I need to get help. I can’t keep arguing all the time.”
The episode ended with the two talking at their home, with Brittany hotly interjecting, telling him, “You’re not just going to get away with it because of the way you’ve treated me all these years because you want to sit there, acting calm, calm and collected, that’s not the case.”
When he told her he had made an appointment for therapy, Brittany was skeptical again.
“You did it yesterday, right before the cameras came,” she said. “The day before the cameras go back, he suddenly has an appointment with a doctor? It’s all just a facade. This is what he wants everyone to see and believe that he’s making these things change I bet your money, he won’t.
In his own confessional, Jax admitted he didn’t go there — because “it was really far” from there.

“Don’t be mad at me for calling you. Do you want me to come back or are you just going to stand there and let me go. Because I will go,” she then told him. Although he said he wanted her back and things were “hard for me at first” after she left him, he began to feel like “it’s been good” to live separately.
“I think it’s been amazing. But do you realize why I decided to leave you? You took my safe space, you took everything from me. I had to uproot myself and my child,” Brittany said. “Why didn’t you do anything, why didn’t you change? You yelled at me, you told me horrible things, that I had no friends here, that no one would tell me ‘loved here.’
He denied saying anything, questioning whether they were “drinking” when he allegedly made the remarks. She then accused him again of playing a role for the show.
“As soon as these cameras drop, you’re going to send me a million text messages and say horrible things to me. You’re going to make me angry via text messages. Be realistic,” she said. “I don’t know how to talk to you anymore. It sucks. I feel really weird being in my own room.”
Jax noted that they “clearly can’t be in the same room together without arguing,” before wondering what else he could do “to show you that I’m trying here.” Brittany was still pretty furious, telling her to stop telling the paparazzi that she came back into the house “when clearly I didn’t.” His comments, she added, “literally made people think I was lying.”
“Who lies just for attention? They do it,” she exclaimed in a confessional. “I’ve flourished. I’m making a lot of money and I feel like I’ve woken up. I feel so much stronger now, I know everything will be okay. I know my worth and I know I won’t don’t. deserve to be in a relationship like this. What was I thinking staying with him for so long?

Jax then admitted he needed to do more, apologizing for indulging his “pent-up aggression” against her. He said it was difficult for him – and all the men in his family – to get help. Their conversation ended with Brittany saying he was letting out his emotions in a “very aggressive” way, before agreeing not to argue in front of their son.
“It’s been an incredible 9 years. I have no regrets. I love Brittany, I love my wife,” Jax said in the final moments of the series – while Brittany got emotional acknowledging that she wouldn’t have Cruz if she “did it”. I got rid of (Jax) a long time ago.”
“Now that I have Cruz and I have woken up from the situation, for the sake of (her son) and for my sanity, I can no longer stay here,” she concluded.
The two are still separated.
