Ever since Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon X Elite processors for Windows AI PCs, they have taken the market by storm. Arm-based chips are poised to give tough competition to other industry players such as Apple, Intel, and AMD.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AI features that will only be integrated by competitors later. updates. Some of the features include Microsoft’s Auto SR, an automatic super-resolution technology, which can help deliver faster performance to gamers running these Copilot+ PCs. These PCs will also host a range of other AI-powered technologies that will set them apart from the rest.
According to Microsoft itself, the first Copilot+ PCs will start at US$999 and the OEM list is very long, including OEM partners such as ACER, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and Microsoft itself.
Qualcomm has so far officially introduced a total of four variants based on its all-new Oryon (ARM) CPU and Adreno GPU architectures, positioned across the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus portfolios. These chips feature up to 12 cores, 42MB cache, clock speeds up to 4.2GHz, up to 45 AI TOPS, and support LPDDR5x-8448 memory while supporting wide range TDP of 23 W and up to 80 W.
