Texas A&M baseball is just one win away from making the College World Series.
The No. 3 overall Aggies will face SEC rival Florida in the nightcap of a CWS triple-header from Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, with a chance to participate in the championship series for the appearance of the championship series in program history. Texas A&M would set the program record for wins with three victories and one more victory in the CWS.

Wednesday’s semifinal will be a rematch of the CWS opener for the Aggies and Gators. Texas A&M beat the Gators 3-2, aided by a steal of Florida’s Cade Kurland’s home run by Texas A&M right fielder Jace LaViolette. LaViolette is a game-time decision following a hamstring injury in the sixth inning against Kentucky.
The Aggies also posted a 5-1 win over Kentucky so far in the CWS, marking their best record and second semifinal appearance in the double-elimination tournament. The Gators would have to beat Texas A&M on Wednesday night and again on Thursday to advance to the best-of-three championship series.
Florida kept its season alive with an elimination victory over NC State on Monday and another Wednesday morning against Kentucky. The Gators – led by Jac Cagliagone and his 35 homers – are 8-1 in playoff games after reaching the tournament as one of the last teams out of 64.
The Aggies lead the all-time series between the two programs 17-14. Texas A&M is 2-2 against Florida this year, losing two of three games during the regular season in Gainesville. This game will mark the second meeting between the teams in the NCAA postseason.
