Evening anchor Megan Conway is no longer with KLKN-TV after her contract was not renewed last month.
Conway had been the evening anchor for the Lincoln ABC affiliate for eight years.
“My contract expired on May 31st,” Conway posted on social media Tuesday. “At a meeting on that date, I expected to sign a new contract, but was told that management had decided to go in a different direction and were not offering a contract renewal.
“I was blinded by this information, which is why there was no goodbye on air during the news.”
Conway, a native of Indianola, has worked at KLKN since 2014, where he started as an intern while studying broadcast journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Hired as morning editor, Conway served as reporter, weekend meteorologist and morning anchor before becoming evening anchor in 2016.
