Billy Ray Cyrus has hit back at his estranged wife Firerose after she accused him of emotional abuse and leaving her a day before her planned double mastectomy.
The country singer, 62, filed new legal documents amid her claims, alleging she misled him about who she was or her real last name, according to TMZ.
Billy said he was suspicious of her background and the last name she had given him – her maiden name Hodges – and his lawyers later discovered her previous divorce which she had never told him about as well as her name legal family.
He also alleged that Firerose isolated him from one of his daughters – but did not specify which one – and that she became involved in his personal affairs with bad intentions.
Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose, 37, after just seven months of marriage on May 23. He cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” for what led to their separation.

Billy claims Firerose tried to use his name to further his own music career.
She had alleged that he subjected her to verbal and emotional abuse after she told him she needed to have a double mastectomy and that he changed his behavior towards her, according to TMZ.
Firerose claimed Billy said he would pay for it and she had to hurry after filing for divorce.
She said the weeks leading up to her preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery, recommended by her doctor in March, had been “chaos.”
The artist, a carrier of the BRCA1 gene mutation, also claimed that her partner had “continually launched verbal attacks” at her and had placed her “in an emotional and psychological prison”.
“When the Wife attempted to express certain concerns, the Husband often called her a ‘f**king selfish’ and continually claimed that she was using him,” the complaint reads.
Firerose claims that less than 24 hours before she was supposed to have surgery, he filed for divorce and that “Cyrus’s brother and sister-in-law banged on her bedroom door for three and a half hours this that day, demanding that she leave. their common home.
She said she did so and made the decision to postpone her surgery “indefinitely” because she no longer had a permanent residence and “would have relied on Cyrus’ health insurance and his previous promises to pay his operation.
Firerose, who is seeking child support from Cyrus, accused Cyrus of intentionally trying to sabotage her career “in retaliation.”
“The accumulation of years of verbal, emotional and psychological abuse, combined with the fact that the husband played a direct role in restricting the wife’s access to income and future opportunities, the wife developed a severe emotional distress as a result of her husband’s actions,” the complaint states. “The wife had to seek psychological treatment from her therapist for emergency sessions on several occasions.”
Cyrus’ lawyers denied Firerose’s claims to DailyMail.com.
“We regret that Ms. Hodges chose to litigate this seven-month marriage to the press and left Mr. Cyrus with no recourse other than to set the record straight,” her lawyers said in a statement. “The allegations made by Ms. Hodges in her response and counter-complaint are particularly confusing and suspect in their veracity since she begged Mr. Cyrus to forgive her and take her back only 2 days after he filed his pleadings to dissolve her marriage .”
Cyrus’ representatives went on to claim that when “Mr. Cyrus returned home 2 days after Ms. Hodges was required by court order to vacate her residence of over 25 years and allowed her to return. He discovered a handwritten note from Mrs. Hodges professing her love and need to be with Mr. Cyrus.’
Cyrus’ lawyers concluded: “If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations alleged by Ms. Hodges in her pleadings, then it is mind-boggling to try to explain why she would want to return to live with him.” Moreover, she begged him to give her a chance to explain everything to him.
Firerose’s claims “are particularly confusing and suspicious in their veracity since she begged Cyrus to forgive her and take her back just two days after he filed for dissolution of her marriage,” Billy’s reps said Ray Cyrus in a statement to DailyMail.com on Tuesday. .
DailyMail.com obtained a copy of a legal filing that Cyrus’ lawyers are submitting to the Williamson County, Tennessee, court on Monday.
Excerpts from the court filing include a screenshot of a text message and a photo of a handwritten note Firerose wrote to Cyrus days after she filed for divorce on May 23, after about seven months of marriage.
In both the text and the note, Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, appears to be trying to salvage the relationship in difficult circumstances of which she did not provide specific examples.
Representatives for Cyrus said the handwritten note – “professing her love and need to be with” the Achy Breaky Heart singer – was written by Firerose and left for Cyrus after she moved out of their former home on court decision.
The note read: “I miss you more than I can explain in words, baby. Please let’s fix this and only get closer to this hellish experience. I need you. I love you. I’m so sorry.’

Cyrus’ reps said Firerose wrote a lengthy text message that “clearly speaks for itself” – as she said she wanted to make peace with him and was very upset about their relationship issues.
The Hannah Montana alum, who is seeking an annulment, also accused Firerose of overcharging his credit card after filing for divorce.
In new court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, Cyrus claimed that Firerose made 37 unauthorized charges on her American Express card, totaling a whopping $96,986.05 between May 23 and June 7.
Billy also requested a temporary restraining order to prevent the Australian-born singer from having any more access to his bank accounts and credit cards.
He further claimed that his estranged wife – who denied the allegations – filed the complaint without his consent, and added that he never allowed her access to his cards.
