However, this area also serves as a gateway to many other areas of the game that are optional for the DLC’s critical path, with plenty of brilliant optional content to be found in true Elden Ring fashion.
This guide will help you start the quest, solve finger ruins maps that Ymir gives you, and finally complete the questline and reap its rewards.
How to reach Manus Metyr Cathedral and start the Fingers quest in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The quest we are looking for begins at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, and to reach this location you will first need to complete Ensis Castle, the second legacy dungeon in the game (although you can approach the first two in order wish). as).
Once you gain access to Scadu Altus via the back exit from the Castle Ensis boss room, to start this quest you will need to head east. Directly east and down a hill from the exit to Ensis Castle and another Miquella Cross are the ruins of Moorth.a small ruined hamlet which is home to a second Cross of Miquella and Site of Grace.
In the Moorth Ruins, you will want to search for underground routes. In the ruins there is a tunnel which takes you deep into the earth and eventually spits you out a little further east, in another place known as Bonny-Village.

This village will actually be a key location for the rest of the quest, but from there you will have relatively direct access to the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, which will require you to cross bridges, gallop up hills, then turn around. reach it. The cathedral is a huge and looming monument, so it’s impossible to miss.
Obtain the first map of the ruins
In the cathedral of Manus Metyr, you will discover Count Ymir atop a throne-shaped chair, and also its mysterious knight Swordhand of Night Jolan inside. Exhaust the dialogue with both of them, or at the very least with Ymir.
Completing the dialogue with Ymir rewards you with the Necklace loaded with holesa key element, and the Ruins Mapwhich is one of those Elden Ring cards that can only be checked by opening it and looking at it in the inventory, memorizing it, then cross-checking it with the game card. Alternatively, you can just continue reading this practical page!
Your next task is to visit the marked location in the ruins and use the hole-laden necklace to “ring a bell” at that location.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Ruins Map Location
The Ruins Map is a sketch that, according to the game’s description, “indicates the location of a sacred ruin.” You need to combine this with the Hole-Laden Necklace to activate a bell at a specific location on the Shadow of the Erdtree map.
The first ruins map shows you Rhia’s Finger Ruins, which are to the southeast of the map.. This is one of those areas that seems to be accessible from multiple locations, but most of the potential routes you can identify will lead to dead ends or death.

To actually reach the area, you need access to the Cerulean Coast, the beautiful blue-tinged coastline to the southwest of the Shadow Realm map that makes up the Elden Ring DLC. From the Cerulean Coast Cross grace site in this area, you will need to head slightly north, then loop back east, through a narrow path cutting between a cliff and one of the ruined ships.
This leads to a beach area, where you can then follow the shallows along the water’s edge until you can return to the Finger Ruins of Rhia areawhich has a dedicated grace site.
Once you are at Rhia’s Finger Ruins Grace Site, you have reached the area located on the ruins map.
You’ll need to head towards the obvious center of the area, which itself resembles a fingerprint from the sky or on the game map. You’ll need to be careful to avoid the Fingercreepers and Man-Serpents present in this area – you can summon a Spirit Ash to help you make your way through the area. Rushing Torrent is possible, but be aware that some enemies cast magic that can take you down instantly.
At the bell in the center of the “fingerprint”, interact to use the necklace and ring the bell. You will get the Crimson Seed Talisman +1 accessory for your trouble. Now return to Ymir at the cathedral.
Ruins Map (2e) Location for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Returning to the Cathedral of Manus Metyr after activating the first ruins triggers a new dialogue with Ymir and Jolan, and Ymir will now hand over a new card. It’s the Ruins Map (2nd)and points to – you guessed it – another location on the world of the Elden Ring DLC.

Next to the back door to Shadow Keep is a side room, with a statue – and a dead end. However, the clue text suggests that there is more to this room than meets the eye.
We have a complete guide to the solution to the “Have pity on the missing shamans” riddle if you prefer – but the very short version is this. you must perform the O Mother gesture in front of the statue in order to open a new path. This gesture is echoed in the village of Bonny, which you must have passed through to reach the cathedral – a lovely circular design.
The open path leads to the “Hinterlands” area and the Grace Site, which in turn leads to the Grace Site of Fingerstone Hill – which leads to the Finger ruins of Dheo. Once you get to the area, it’s pretty straightforward.
The same rules apply: head to the middle of the fingerprint dodging or killing enemies, then interact with the spooky bell. You will obtain the Cerulean Seed Talisman +1 and can now return to the Cathedral and Ymir.
Ruins Map 3 Location and Solution
Return to Ymir at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and exhaust her dialogue again. This time he puts the Ruins Map (3e) – which very clearly represents the very church you are in. No map graphics are needed for this one: you’re already clearly on top.
With this in mind, make sure to exhaust all of Ymir’s dialogue, then go to the nearby Grace Site to rest. When you return, Ymir will have disappeared. Interact with his throne in the middle of the cathedral to discover that it hides a secret pathwhich leads directly to the Finger ruins of Miyr, which are underground.
There will only be a few enemies to fight here before you ring the bell – but consider this a war bell, as you should now. prepare for a unique Memory Boss – one of the ten main bosses added in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. We won’t spoil it here, but the boss will net you over 400,000 runes and a Souvenir.
