Amazon Prime Day 2024 dates announced: The best early Prime Day deals you can shop ahead of the summer event

Amazon has confirmed that its Prime Day 2024 sale will take place on July 16 and 17, and if history is any indication, it’s expected to include some of the best prices of the year on gadgets and tech gear. Most of the noteworthy discounts won’t be available until the sales event begins, but, as usual, the retailer is arranging some exciting deals in advance. If you’re looking to buy a new device today, we’ve rounded up the best early Prime Day deals below. As a reminder, Amazon essentially uses Prime Day to increase Prime subscriptions and purchasing activity during a typically slow period. So you’ll need to be a Prime user to see most of the deals available before and (especially) during the sale. That said, a number of the best deals we’re seeing right now are open to everyone. We’ll be updating this article regularly over the coming weeks, so check back to see the latest deals.

Apple

A four-pack of Apple AirTags is currently on sale for $80, bringing the price of each down to just $20. We named the AirTag the best Bluetooth tracker for iPhone users in our guide to these key fobs, thanks to Apple’s extensive search network that calls every nearby iPhone to anonymously search for your lost items.

The latest stylus for iPad, the Apple Pencil Pro is currently on sale for $119 on Amazon. That’s just $10 less than its original price, but it’s the first discount on the new accessory since its launch last month. The new Pencil Pro recognizes taps, which can trigger actions like displaying app-specific tool palettes and shortcuts, and gives you haptic feedback when you use it. It can also detect barrel roll for greater precision when drawing.

Apple’s latest MacBook Pros are on sale: the 14.2-inch version is down to $1,749 for a configuration with an M3 Pro chip, 18GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD at Amazon and B&H. That’s $250 off Apple’s list price and $50 less than the street price we’ve seen on Amazon over the past two months, although it’s $50 more than the lowest price we we followed. The 16.2-inch model is also on sale for $2,199, which is an all-time low. This model has the same basic specs, although it has a slightly more powerful 12-core CPU (instead of the 11-core chip in the 14-inch model) and an 18-core GPU (instead of ‘a 14-core unit) alongside its more spacious one. display. Just keep in mind that we may or may not see new M4-based models by the end of the year.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member and have never subscribed to , you can now get five months of the music streaming service for free. If you’re a new user who doesn’t have Prime, you can get a three-month free trial. The service normally costs $10 per month for those who subscribe to Prime and $11 per month for those who don’t.

Music Unlimited isn’t a formal recommendation in our guide: Its interface isn’t as polished or cleverly organized as that of Apple Music, our top pick, and we found it a bit aggressive in promoting podcasts that you might not care. That said, it’s hard to beat the free service, and the service has more or less the same giant music library as its peers. It also supports lossless streaming, unlike Spotify, which is a nice plus for audiophiles with high-quality wired headphones. If you just want to save a little money on your music streaming for a few months, this should do the trick. Remember to cancel at the end of the free trial, as your subscription will be set to auto-renew by default.

Prime subscribers can now get Echo Dot Kids from Amazon for $28, which is the lowest price we’ve seen. Technically, the smart speaker has a list price of $60, although we’ve seen it drop to between $35 and $45 a few times over the past year.

As the name suggests, this is a kid-friendly version of Amazon’s miniature home speaker: It uses the same spherical hardware as the standard model, but comes with a cute owl- or dragon-themed design, a longer two-year warranty (up from 90 days), and a one-year subscription to the company’s Kids+ service, which includes a range of audiobooks, games, music stations, and more aimed at kids. Like the standard model, there’s also a fairly robust suite of parental controls. The quality of that Kids+ content can be spotty, and whether you’re comfortable with an Amazon speaker in your child’s room is up to you (though there is a mic mute button). The standard Echo Dot is the “best pick under $50” in our best smart speakers guide and will almost certainly be on sale during Prime Day. But if you’re looking for an affordable music and audiobook player that your little one can control with their voice, this is it.

Amazon’s Fire TV soundbar is $20 off and up to $100, which is the best price we’ve seen all year. It’s best paired with a Fire TV device or a standalone Fire TV, and it supports surround sound with DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio.

The 43-inch and 55-inch Amazon Fire Omni QLED Smart TVs are currently up to 25% off. The 43-inch model is the most affordable, down 20% with a final price of $360 for Prime members. These TVs support 4K HDR10+ content with Dolby Vision IQ, Alexa hands-free connectivity, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and the Fire TV ambient experience.

Sound core

The Anker Soundcore Space A40 headphones came in at a low of $59, a savings of $21 off the full price. We named them our top pick for a set of budget headphones because they offer features like EQ adjustment, splash resistance, active noise cancellation, and a decent transparency mode. Additionally, the sound itself is pleasant and warm.

Shark

This Shark AI Ultra robot vacuum is half price and just $300 right now. A version of one of our top picks for the best robot vacuums, it supports cleaning schedules and home mapping, and it also comes with a self-emptying base that can hold up to 60 days of debris . The base is also bagless, so you don’t need to purchase and replace proprietary trash bags over time.

Beats only launched its new Solo 4 headphones a little over a month ago, but the over-ear pair has already dropped to $150 at various retailers. That’s $50 off the Apple subsidiary’s MSRP. A bundle that pairs the earbuds with two years of AppleCare+ protection is also on sale for $178.

Elgato

The XL version of Elgato’s Stream Deck is currently 20% off and up to $200. That’s just $10 more than its all-time high price, and this model gives you 32 buttons that you can program to perform specific actions during a stream or just for general productivity.

Our top pick for a Wi-Fi 6E mesh system is TP-Link’s Deco XE75, and currently it’s on sale for just $290 for a set of three. That’s after a 31% discount and a $20 clickable coupon. Overall, this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the shelf so far. We like how it balances power and usability, providing fast connections to places in your home that might previously be spotty.
