None of them could have predicted how quickly they would be thrust into the spotlight after their mortifying moments went viral.
But a clique of “internet queens” is emerging after several women sparked a media storm when their actions were filmed and widely shared online.
They include the ‘Crazy Plane Lady’ who had an epic heart attack on a plane and the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl who shared her best sex tips in an interview with a man on the street.
Yet despite the embarrassing nature of their viral fame, will they have the last laugh?
DailyMail.com takes a look at the women who became overnight sensations this year – and how they cashed in on their five minutes of fame.
The “Hawk Tuah” girl
Hailey Welch, 23, became the queen of the Internet this week after her graphic demonstration of “sex advice” involving spitting went viral, sparking instant facial expressions from fans.
But the young Nashville woman is cashing in on all the hype — selling more than $65,000 worth of merchandise — after teaming up with Jason Poteete, owner of Tennessee-based clothing company Fathead Threads.
The official $32.70 headgear proclaiming “Hawk Tuah ’24, Spit on That Thang” sells for $43.70 if it bears his original signature on the brim.
Welch gained worldwide fame after being asked for her advice on how to “drive a man crazy in bed” during a Nashville street video for Tim & Dee TV that aired June 19.
Enthusiastically, and with considerable demonstration to imitate the noise, she revealed: “Gotta give them that hawk tuah.” »
Hundreds of memes followed, with talk of a Hollywood agent, the phrase being shouted by a fan as 2024 US Open golf champion Bryson DeChambeau hit a tee shot at the LIV event in Nashville and gymnast Olivia Dunne joining the craze.
She wrote “leave Miss Tuah out of this” after a GIF of Welch was in the comments when she posted photos of herself in a bikini with her MLB star boyfriend Paul Skenes.
“The Crazy Lady on the Plane”
Tiffany Gomas, also known as “The Crazy Plane Lady,” who stopped an American Airlines flight from taking off after a meltdown, after accusing a passenger who she claimed stole her AirPods.
Standing in the aisle with her $2,000 purse slung over her arm, Gomas was hysterical as she shouted at the plane full of passengers: ‘But I’m telling you, right now, that f***ing ***** over there is not real.’
The bizarre incident was documented in the DFW The airport’s Department of Public Safety obtained information that Dallas News obtained, and she was banned from flying on the airline.
She later apologized for her behavior, describing it as not being her “finest moment” and saying she was a “kid,” and became a viral sensation racking up over 450 million views.
The life of the 39-year-old real estate developer looks much rosier, since Sunday will officially mark the first anniversary of her public brilliance. Her social media profile has grown exponentially with over 137,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 300,000 on Twitter.
She has appeared on several podcasts, including Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast with Big Cat and PFT Commenter, and is working on raise awareness about cyberbullying.
And is in talks with the non-profit CyberSmile Foundation which focuses on cyberbullying and online abuse.
The Finance Girl
The life of Megan Boni, also known as Girl on the Couch, turned into a whirlwind after the 26-year-old created a TikTok video singing the song “Looking for a Man in Finance,” which became an instant hit.13490213
The satirical song pokes fun at girls who complain about being single but have a huge list of needs.
“I’m looking for a man… a financier… a trust fund… 6’5”… blue eyes. I’m looking for a man… I’m looking for a man…” she repeats while making funny facial expressions.
A Penn State graduate from Philadelphia living in New York, she worked in sales and marketing before her newfound fame.
She quit her job and now has a music contract with Universal Music Group NV, telling Philadelphia Magazine that “the 10-second song pays me more than my full-time job would pay me in a year.”
Boni teamed up with DJ David Guetta for a remix of her son and signed with United Talent Agency, according to her Instagram.
She has worked with some brands, including online dating app Tinder, which she says paid her “handsomely for 15 seconds” of herself in a hoodie, and some underwear companies.
“Daughter of the Oilers”
The “Oilers girl”, real name Kait, flashed her breasts to a cameraman during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals when the Edmonton Oilers played the Dallas Stars.
Since flashing in front of the rowdy crowd at Rogers Place earlier this month, she has become an instant celebrity, but has kept her identity a mystery – even deleting her social media account.
But she recently broke her silence in an interview with Barstool Sports’ Spittin’ Chiclets podcast.
She was unapologetic when discussing her rise to fame on social media this week, saying in part: “I just wanted to say you can be the most perfect, godly person in the world, you can save kittens from a river if they drowned – someone is still going to hate you.
So, you know what? At the end of the day, I got drunk and rolled my eyes at an Oilers game and those photos went viral.

The avid NHL fan joined forces with Playboy after turning down massive offers on porn sites.
Playboy shared the ad on Instagram: “Meet Kait, the Oilers’ lucky charm.”
Bhad Bhadie
Danielle Bregoli, 21, is now better known as Bhad Bhabie after rising to fame at the age of 13 during her viral appearance on Dr. Phil in 2016.
In this segment, she coined her iconic catchphrase: “Cash me outside. What about dat?” which became one of the most popular memes.
The Dr. Phil episode was titled, “I Want to Ditch My Car-Stealing, Knife-Waving, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.”
She quickly gained a following on social media and appeared in the music video “Everything 1K” and was nominated in the “Trending” category at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards for her catchphrase.
Bregoli, a Florida native who grew up with a single mother, amassed his current fortune through his rapping and social media career. paid social mentions and OnlyFans – one of the highest-earning celebrities earning $50 million in her first year, on the subscription-based social platform.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, she is worth $25 million.
In March, she had her first child, a daughter, with boyfriend Le Vaughn.
