Samsung regularly criticizes Apple for lagging behind on certain iPhone features that Android phones have had for years. One example is a 2012 ad campaign in which Apple and Samsung users line up for the new iPhone 5. In the video ad, Galaxy S III users scorn iPhone users who are lining up for the new iPhone with “fewer features” and a smaller screen than the Galaxy. Further, Samsung also indirectly criticized the iPhone 4 for its antenna issues by creating a Galaxy poster that read “Hello” with reception bars. I have to admit, this is one of Samsung’s more elegant indirect attacks on Apple.
Then there’s Samsung’s tweet “No one will buy a big phone – guess who caught themselves changing their mind” in reference to the launch of the first big iPhone, the iPhone 6 Plus. I agree with Samsung too! Apple was completely wrong. Smartphone addicts… I mean smartphone users love big screens.
Today, Samsung’s latest attack on Apple came in the form of another video ad, arriving surprisingly quickly to poke fun at Cupertino’s controversial “Crush” ad for the new iPad Pro (which Apple admitted “missed the mark”).
Samsung Chooses Angry Tweet Campaign to Criticize Apple’s iOS 18 for Lags in AI
Samsung simply can’t stay silent every time Apple does something “controversial,” or (let’s be honest) every time Apple does anything.
Not after but even literally during the launch of iOS 18that Samsung people were watching closely (and taking notes?) Samsung’s US X account began posting tweet after tweet about the late hour iOS 18 is to get some “Android” features.

With this tweet, Samsung is referring to Apple’s latest (and probably most sneaky) marketing ploy, which involves calling the AI on iPhones, iPads, and Macs “Apple Intelligence.”

And since third time’s a charm, Samsung had to go off topic entirely, implying that the Galaxy takes better photos than the iPhone.
However, I noticed that Sammy wasn’t confident enough to mention the video album. Why? Who cares! No one makes videos in 2024. What is this? 2010?!
People React to Samsung’s Childish Tweets About Apple’s iOS 18: ‘Embarrassing Marketing Campaign’
You can read them all if you zoom in on the screenshots, but here are some of my favorite tweets in response to Samsung’s anti-Apple tweets:
- Your marketing is embarrassing. Please stop.
- Adding “Apple” just means it will work.
- I forgot when Samsung invented the cell phone.
- A big speech for a company that tried to steal Apple’s business model.
- I don’t like Apple, but it’s the definition of living rent-free in someone’s mind.
Clearly, people can see through Samsung’s somewhat childish, and even hypocritical, attitude when it comes to criticizing Apple.
Samsung continues to pretend that Apple is the only “bad guy”, while borrowing Tim Cook’s “evil” business model
So yeah… it happened again. Samsung called Apple. Repeatedly. With multiple tweets. Which makes me think…
Who is the Samsung employee in charge of handling “Apple harassment”? Does he wear an “Apple harassment” badge? How much does he make? Because I might be interested.
In fact, to add to the obvious design inspiration Samsung likes to take from Cupertino, the rumored Galaxy Watch Ultra will be square — just like the Apple Watch Ultra. That’s another first for Samsung’s flagship smartwatch lineup. So, I guess Samsung is thinking Tim Cook & Co do some things well.
Samsung has a lot to say about some of Apple’s choices, but likes to follow Tim Cook’s lead
The leaked Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Watch Ultra appear to take shape inspiration from the AirPods Pro and Apple Watch Ultra.
But I want to go back to the tweet I quoted earlier: “A great speech for a company that tried to steal Apple’s business model.”
This X user says he “tried”, but I disagree. Samsung not only tried, but managed to mimic Apple’s business model quite successfully. At least when it comes to the Galaxy S series (but not in terms of revenue).
Sammy got rid of the “Galaxy Note” (without really getting rid of it?!) and put it in the “S” lineup and challenged Apple with a high-end “S” flagship. They also made their phones flat; removed the charger from the box (after mocking Apple for doing the same thing); and most importantly, Samsung doesn’t seem to be putting much effort into hardware upgrades for the new Galaxy flagships.
For example, the upcoming Galaxy S25 and S25+ are expected to reuse the same camera sensors as the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22, while general camera system upgrades have been very slow over the past 3-4 years (at least compared to the good old days).
Not to mention the fact that the Galaxy S24The S23, S22, and arguably the S21 share almost the same design – another very “Apple” move from the company so eager to mock its big competitor for being “slow.”
Overall, Samsung seems to be taking every opportunity to demonize Apple. And make no mistake, Tim Cook & Co are not angels. For example, making “Apple Intelligence” exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro is very disappointing, in my opinion.
But again, compared to many years ago, Samsung is now what I call “the Apple of Android,” so making it seem like Apple is the only big player doing what the big players are doing… doesn’t work.
