Best Yujin build in The First Descendant: skills, weapons, reactor and modules – Dexerto

Yujin is a Descendant whose primary role is almost exclusively to heal allies and support the strike team in The First Descendant. If this sounds like the ideal role for you, we’ve got all the recommendations on the best weapons, reactors, mods, and skills to use that will make Yujin shine.

Of all the Descendants who provide direct healing to their teammates, Yujin is arguably the best. His powerful toolkit is bolstered by significant build potential, with mods, reactors, and weapons that elevate the character to a new level.

If you’re looking to deal direct damage, you’re better off looking elsewhere, but Yujin has the potential to be one of the best and most in-demand Descendants in the entire game. Here’s our breakdown of everything you need to know to get the most out of him.

Best Active Skill for Yujin

Like all descendants, Yujin has access to one passive skill and four active skills. They are all effective at what they are trying to do, but the main ones to use are:

  1. Solidarity healing: This ability summons a drone that locks onto allies and heals them. It’s an extremely useful tool that requires little to no upkeep from the player. It provides significant healing and increases the target’s ATK stat when dismissed. You’ll want to keep this up as much as possible, alternating between allies to keep them healthy and buffed.
  2. Hyper-Reactive Healing Ground: This is a large circular heal, very effective if you need to restore multiple party members to full health. It also grants Purify and Immunity, which remove negative status effects and prevent teammates from accumulating new ones. Yujin also gains the Hyperactivity effect, which increases his base ATK and Ability Power.

All skills explained

Here are the five skills available to Yujin players:

  • Passive – Stop overreacting: Greatly reduces the time needed to save allies. Targets saved by Yujin gain increased max HP for a period of time.
  • Solidarity healing: Summons a recovery drone that attaches to allies to heal them. Recovers the target and increases its ATK with a speed-up effect when dismissed.
  • Restructuring Serum: Fires a restructuring serum forward, reducing DEF and inflicting Allergy. When attacking enemies with Allergy, heal nearby allies and grant additional healing to allies who kill the enemy.
  • Stimulating spray: Grants Stim to allies. While Stim is active, damage taken is reduced and recovery is received when Stim ends.
  • Hyper-Reactive Healing Ground: Heals self and allies, granting Purification and Immunity to remove and prevent debuffs. Additional recovery is based on the number of allies and enemies in range. Yujin gains a Hyperactivity effect, increasing his ATK and Skill Power.

Best weapon to use with Yujin

Divine Punishment in The Final Descendant

The absolute best weapon for Yujin and other healers in The First Descendant is Divine punishment. It’s a solid assault rifle that fits well into the current meta, but its real strength comes from its unique ability, Prayer:

  • Pray: Buffing allies, other than yourself, will grant you Meditation. Recovering an ally’s HP, Shield, MP, or Resources will grant you the Praise unique ability. Debuffing an enemy will grant you the Glory unique ability.
    • Meditation: Increases DEF by 10% for 30 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times and increases DEF by 5% per additional stack.
    • To rent out: Reduces skill cooldown (amount depends on skill).
    • Glory: Increases the base stat of firearm attack with each equipped weapon.

The overall nature of the buffs that Divine Punishment provides puts this weapon well ahead of its closest rivals as the weapon of choice for Yujin and other supports. Assault Rifles are a great choice for dealing damage in the meta right now, so it’s nice to have them available as well when needed.

If you want to look for alternative options, there are some very powerful choices available in our ultimate weapon tier list.

Best Reactors

The Reactor mechanic is interesting because it allows players to give their descendants general skill and stat boosts. Yujin is a character that relies on non-attribute skills, so you should be on the lookout for Reactors with Materialized in the title. The best options are:

  • Materialized mixture: Improves non-attribute and fusion skills.
  • Materialized singularity: Improves non-attribute skills and singular skills.

Better configuration of Yujin module

THE Proliferative allergy The mod does a great job of giving Yujin offensive options where he otherwise wouldn’t have them. Most of the other choices in the mod are focused on Yujin’s survivability to allow the Descendant to use his abilities in the first place. The negative HP effect of Conditional recharge is offset by other modules, so it’s worth saving for the shield boost.

Best External Components

External components are one of the most difficult elements in The First Descendant, and their usefulness largely depends on the RNG gods. The best elements to use when playing as Yujin are:

  • Maximum power
  • HP Recovery
  • Max Shield
  • DEF

As with our mod choices, we’re looking to give Yujin as much survivability as possible. Health regeneration and overall health pool are critical to the character’s success, mainly because you won’t be able to rely on anyone else to keep you leveled.

DEF and Shield are additional bonuses that allow for better survivability in the game’s more difficult activities.
