Daily Press Review 7/8 – Bachelorette Jenn Episode-by-Episode Spoilers, What Happens on Tonight’s Premiere, Golden Bachelorette and 90210 Talk with Brandon and Brenda

You’re listening to the Daily Roundup here on the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thanks, everyone, for listening. Happy Monday show. It’s Premiere Monday. Bachelorette number 21. Transgender season premieres tonight on ABC. We’ve got a lot to talk about. Talk about last night’s live stream and we’ve got some golden Bachelorette news.

I have news. Weekly podcast number 400 is coming up in a few weeks. And we’ll talk a little bit more about Jen spoilers. And I have a 90210 story from last week and we’ll get to that in a moment. Okay. Let’s start tonight with Jen’s season premiere. What do you think? We’re finally here, July 8, Jen Tran, 21st Bachelorette, even though she’s the 23rd woman to be Bachelorette.

Since we’ve had two seasons where there were two women playing the Bachelorette, Claire and Tayshia. Rachel and Gabby. So let’s start here. Before we get to Jen’s season, I wanted to talk about a lot of the things that I talked about on the live stream last night. If you haven’t already, go check out my YouTube channel, reality, Steve YouTube, you can watch me go through all these photos that I talked about that I hadn’t really posted yet.

And then maybe some other things that you might be interested in, answering everybody’s questions, but basically going over the spoilers, which I’ll get to in the second half, guests. But one of the things we talked about. It was the Golden Bachelorette and the Golden Bachelorette is filming Jones’ season right now.

They’re about three weeks into filming because they started June 21st and today is July 8th. So what, 9, 17, so two and a half weeks of filming. I don’t know, I know filming ends at the end of this month. So they probably have another two and a half weeks of filming left. We talked about this at the very beginning because Kelsey Anderson, you know, the one who’s engaged to Joey, she’s been very open about her dad, Mark being open to love and she would love to see him.

And she gave him the green light to appear on Jones’ season. And we talked about it at the time. It was just very, you know, I even said it, I was like, look, I’d be shocked if Mark wasn’t on Jones’ season. And then we saw that he went private on Instagram two days before we started filming and it was all there.

Well, I can tell you that Mark is in the season and I talked about it last night and I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty sure Mark was in the season, but yeah, he’s in the season. And I think one of the things is, you know, I have nothing against Mark Anderson, you know, but it almost seems like it’s unfair to the other guys that are in there because the audience is already rooting for Mark Anderson.

Who wouldn’t want him to end up with Joan? I don’t think it’s going to be like a Patty Smith, Matt or Patty James mom, Matt James who was on Gary’s season and went home the first night. It’s not a factor that’s going to happen to Mark Anderson, but I just think the audience already wants him to find love.

And, you know, from a production standpoint, it makes perfect sense for him to be on the show. I understand that point of view. I’m just saying that if Mark ends up with Joan, it’s kind of like… OK. It’s almost like an arranged marriage. I understand that they have to get along. I understand that Joan has to be attracted to him and he has to be attracted to her, but when everyone in the audience wants him to end up with Joan, it’s like there are things they can do on this show to make sure that happens.

It’s almost like everybody’s a winner, because if Mark, let’s say, doesn’t win, but he makes it to the end, then you’re introducing him as our next golden bachelor. You know, why wouldn’t you do it then? Because he’ll have made it to the end and then Joan will dump him and everybody will feel even more sorry for him than they already did because he lost his wife.

You know, I understand that from a television perspective. He’s the one, but I’m just saying if you’re any of the other guys in this house, you’re probably like, okay, they’re clearly pushing this guy and they want him to be either the winner or our next golden bachelor. And I’m not saying that’s not fair. I’m just saying that I’m sure those other guys have ideas about Mark being chosen for the show, especially if he ends up winning.

I’m not going to say that it won’t be a beautiful love story if he ends up winning because I think people are going to absolutely love it, but you know what I mean. So Mark is filming Golden Bachelorette right now. And the other thing I wanted to say is I talked about this live last night.

And that’s something that I’m really excited about is that this week, Thursday, it’s podcast number three, 99, and for the 400, I wanted to do something with someone who had never been on before and I just wanted to make it something big, because not only is it podcast number 400, you know, number 400, I never thought I’d get to 400 weekly podcasts when I started this one in December of 2016, but we’re also moving to YouTube.

So you’re going to see that not only will it, trust me, still be in your Apple podcast feed on Thursday mornings and it’ll still be in your Spotify feed wherever you listen to my podcasts on Thursdays, but it’ll also be on YouTube so you can watch me interview the people that I talk to for 399 episodes.

You never got to see me interview the people that were here. Well, you’re going to start now at episode number 400. And for episode number 400, I wanted to make it someone special, someone that had never been here before and someone that would be a good hook for the 400th episode. And I did.

And I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever done. And it’s going to be with Clayton Eckerd. Now, you might be thinking, oh my gosh, Steve, we’re out of ideas for Clayton at this point. Let me go against that and say this: Clayton has been doing a lot of interviews recently. You know, because the judge ruled in his favor.

This case is pretty much over. Sure, the other side can find a case and appeal, but nobody thinks they’re going to win an appeal except for their lawyer, who, you know, lives in a different world than the rest of us, as does Laura herself. So they all think they’re going to win an appeal, but nobody else in the legal profession who’s followed this case thinks they have a chance of winning an appeal, but they don’t.

Clayton has been doing a lot of interviews lately. So when I approached him, I said, “Man, I want you to be on the podcast and I know you do a lot of them, but I want it to be different. I don’t want to sit here and rehash everything that everybody who’s been following this for a long time already knows, like what happened the night of the 20th and you know, how did it happen, you know, what did she do and what did she say?”

It’s like we know the emails. If you listen to me or if you listen to Dave, you’re very well aware of what’s going on here. And you know, the details of this case. Now, for those of you who don’t follow Dave every day or haven’t paid attention to what’s been going on with him over the last nine months, we’re talking about Laura Owens in this case and I think in this podcast, it might be the first 30, 40 minutes.

We talk about Laura and this case in general terms. We don’t sit down and do a timeline. You know, when he went on Nick Vial’s podcast, he had to talk to a lot of people who probably had no idea about the case. So they went through, okay, what happened here? What happened here?

All of that. It’s not an interview like that. It’s almost like an uncensored Clayton Eckerd, unfiltered Clayton Eckerd, Clayton Eckerd tells it all, and it’s more about him as a person and it’s more about his mental health. And you know, I’ve never had Clayton before, so we’ve never even, I’ve never even talked to him about his season, which was one of the most hated Bachelors we’ve ever had for what he did with Gabby and Rachel and Susie and telling them all that he loved them.

And then Susie says, well, if you slept with both of them, I have to go. And then he ends up dating Susie at the end, because he wanted to, he wanted to be with her and then they meet up after the show. We talk about all that, there’s a lot of good stuff about Susie too. And I think it’s a really, really good interview.

I can’t wait for you all to listen to it. It’s going to be next Thursday’s podcast, July 18th, but I recorded it on Friday and I’m really proud of it. And Clayton thought it went really well. And yes, you’ll be able to listen to it on audio, but you can also watch it on YouTube if you’re interested.

So subscribe to my YouTube channel, subscribe, just go to YouTube, click on Reality Steve, subscribe there. And you’ll find it. If you want to watch last night’s live, go ahead too. It should obviously be up there. And I think you’re just going to see a side of Clayton and you’re going to, you’re going to hear a side of Clayton in this podcast.

I don’t think you’ve heard this before. I think you’re going to learn a lot about a guy through this podcast. He takes full responsibility for how his season went and what he did, but he explains the reasoning behind the things he did. He doesn’t try to make excuses. He just says, listen, you want to know what you want an answer to.

That’s why I did what I did. That’s why I said the things I did. That doesn’t mean it’s right. But if you want to know why, because I’m just sitting here and I’m like, you know, Clayton, since your season aired, I haven’t been able to talk to you. Why did you tell three women that you loved them? What were you thinking? And he goes,

He talks about Susie and their relationship, the state of mind he was in when the show started airing and he started getting the hate that he was getting. Really, really good interview, I can’t wait to see you guys. It’s coming up next Thursday. So be on the lookout for that. Obviously, I’ll be talking to you about that as well as we get closer.
