Oprah Winfrey dazzled in an all-white ensemble as media and tech giants descended on a conference dubbed “billionaires’ summer camp” in Idaho.
Allen & Co’s annual gathering brings together industry titans from around the world.
The American talk show host was pictured waving her name badge as she left the Sun Valley Resort with Van Jones, close friend Gayle King and Erin Burnett.
She was seen wearing a white sweater, casual jeans, a pair of white sneakers and a shoulder bag with minimal jewelry.
The summit agenda and conference topics are kept secret to allow the 1 percent to wander the resort in privacy, gossiping about the industry and, sometimes, closing multibillion-dollar deals.
This year’s guest list includes New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Disney boss Bob Iger, OpenAI leader Sam Altman, Gayle King and many more.
Private jets typically land at Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey, about 15 miles from the luxury resort, and then fly guests to the estate with picturesque mountain views.
Jeff Bezos and his glamorous fiancée Lauren Sanchez looked fashionable as they arrived in Idaho.
Sanchez sported a new hairstyle – a sleek bob – and looked stunning in a knit skirt and sweater with a pink handbag and chunky sunglasses.
Tim Cook was photographed sporting his beloved peace sign while wearing a blue polo shirt, white pants and of course an Apple Watch.
Barry Diller, chairman and chief executive of IAC and Expedia Group, arrived with his famous fashion designer wife, Diane von Furstenberg.
National Amusements President Shari Ellin Redstone gave the cameras a thumbs-up as she arrived in red, just days after the Paramount-Skydance merger was announced.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav told Bloomberg that the merger with Paramount was “good for the industry,” as he entered the complex wearing a beige corduroy jacket, blue jeans, a white shirt, a bandana and brown sunglasses.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was escorted around the complex in a golf cart after his tumultuous year at the company that saw him briefly ousted.
He has been accused of creating a “toxic culture of lying” and using “psychological abuse” at OpenAI, and Scarlett Johansson has accused him of appropriating her voice for ChatGPT.
Disney CEO Bob Iger flashed a confident smile as he arrived in Sun Valley after fending off a takeover attempt by billionaire Nelson Peltz in May.
CBS News anchor Gayle King showed off her slim figure in a green dress as she greeted cameras before heading into the resort.
General Motors CEO Mary Barra is attending the conference after waging a war with the United Auto Workers union over contract negotiations that led to a historic six-week strike.
Alice + Olivia CEO Stacey Bendet Eisner looked stylish as she arrived, wearing a matching white ensemble with an artistic face print, chunky black sunglasses, and a hat.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred is attending this year’s conference after announcing in February his plans to retire in 2029 after 14 years in the role.
Wendi Murdoch, Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife who married for the fifth time in June, was seen arriving at the resort wearing a Dior shirt, brown pants, sunglasses and a hat.
Other media figures in attendance included Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida, Heart CEO Steven Swartz, Yahoo boss Jim Lanzone and YouTube executive Neal Mohan.
The conference began in 1982, and in its early days its founder Herbert Allen – who co-founded Allen & Company with his brother Charles – had to beg guests to come.
But today, the Sun Valley conference has built a reputation for hosting major trade deals, or at least being the site of the conversations that spark them.
Previous transactions with roots in Sun Valley include Disney’s purchase of Capital Cities/ABC in 1995, Comcast’s acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2009, Verizon’s purchase of AOL in 2015 and Jeff Bezos’ purchase of The Washington Post in 2013.
Other famous faces who have taken part in the business escapade over the years include Mark Zuckerberg, McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook and PayPal CEO Dan Schulman.
