Pokémon Go Fusion including how to get solar and moon fusion energy explained

Fusion allows you to fuse two Pokémon to create a completely new creature in Pokémon Go. The Pokémon in question are Twilight Mane Necrozma And Necrozma Dawn Wings which were released alongside the mechanic as part of Go Fest 2024.

As their name suggests, you will need a Necrozma if you wish to use Fusion in Pokémon Go, but that’s not the only requirement. The fusion also requires a Solgaelo or Lunala, a tablespoon of Necrozma candy, a pinch of Cosmog candy, and then either Solar or lunar fusion energy. The fusion is worth the effort as it will give you access to the Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam adventure effects.

So read on to find out everything about Fusion in Pokémon Goincluding how to merge necrozma. We also examine how to get solar fusion energy and lunar fusion energySO how to separate Necrozma Dusk Mane and Necrozma Dawn Wing.

Fusion in Pokémon Go: How to fuse Necrozma

To use Fusion in Pokémon Go, you’ll first need to make sure you have a Necrozma and either a Solgaleo or Lunala. (However, it’s a good idea to have both Solgaleo and Lunala to ensure you have access to both forms of Necrozma.) Without at least two of these Pokémon, one of which must be a Necrozma, you have no chance of creating a new creature via Fusion.

Solgaleo and Lunala.

Necrosis.

There are a number of other prerequisites before fusing, but we recommend first deciding which fusion you want to create. Fusing Necrozma with Solgaleo creates Dusk Mane Necrozma, while fusing Necrozma with Lunala creates Dawn Wings Necrozma.

The two fusions have different types: Dusk Mane is Psychic and Steel-type, while Dawn Wings is Psychic and Ghost-type. They also have different Adventure Effects, with Dusk Mane knowing Solar Steel Strike and Dawn Wings having Moongeist Beam. Both Pokémon will automatically learn Adventure Effect moves after being fused, so you don’t have to worry about catching a Pokémon that already knows the move. Each Adventure Effect provides a different bonus when activated, which you can learn more about in our guide to the Solar Steel Strike and Moongeist Beam Adventure Effects.

After you decide what fusion you want to create, you will also need to gather the following items:

  • Twilight Mane Necrozma – 1000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candies, and 30 Cosmog Candies
  • Necrozma Dawn Wings – 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candies, and 30 Cosmog Candies

Necrozma Candy can be earned by defeating Necrozma in a raid, while Cosmog Candy can be earned by defeating Necrozma Duskmane or Dawn Wings in a raid. You can of course earn additional Candy by using rare Candy and having Necrozma or a member of the Cosmog evolutionary line (Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala) as a buddy. If you choose to go the buddy route, keep in mind that since they are Legendary Pokémon, you will have to walk 20 km to earn a single Candy.

The good news, however, is that The merger has no time limit And you can have multiple Necrozma fusions of both types active at the same time. Think of fusions like Peek-a-boo forms: once you change them, or in this case, fuse them, the Pokémon will stay that way forever, unless you decide to make the change. So if you only want to have one of each form, you’ll only have to invest twice in Candy and Fusion Energy.

Now that you’ve obtained the required Pokémon and resources, it’s time to finally perform a Fusion in Pokémon Go!

To do this, you must first find a Necrozma in your Pokémon reserve and open its summary page. There, you will find the option to “Fuse” with Solgaleo or Lunala above the option to “Boost” your Pokémon.

Simply select this option and then press “Yes,” and your Necrozma will fuse with the Legendary Pokémon of your choice and transform into a new Pokémon! You will now be able to benefit from that Pokémon’s Adventure effect, have it as a companion, and use it in battle.

Remember: there is no time limit on fusions, so Necrozma will remain that way until you decide to split it. You can also have multiple fusions, of Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings, active at the same time.

How to Get Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy in Pokémon Go

Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy are the energies you will need to perform a fusion in Pokémon Go.

Solar fusion energy is used next to Solgaleo will create a Necrozma Dusk Manewhile Lunar fusion energy is used with Lunala will create a Necrozma with Wings of Dawn. Remember that the time of day the Pokémon is associated with, so the day in Solgaleo’s case, is linked to the name of the energy you need for its fusion.

Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy can be obtained using the same method: defeating a Pokémon in a raid. However, the exact Pokémon you need to defeat differs depending on which energy you’re trying to collect. (And there are no big surprises as to who you need to defeat…)

For Solar fusion energyyou will need Defeat a Dusk Mane Necrozma in a raid. While Lunar fusion energy forces you to Defeat Dawn Wings Necrozma in a raid. Yes, this is basically the same method you use to collect Mega Energy and Primal Energy! Keep in mind that both of these Pokémon are quite powerful, so your chances of beating them alone are very slim. For this reason, it’s a good idea to team up with a group of players or use remote raid passes to collect Fusion Energy.

The amount of Fusion Energy you earn per raid seems to work similarly to the number of Premier Balls/Beast Balls you receive for catching a Pokémon after a successful raid. This means that speed, friendship, and gym control can all increase the amount of Fusion Energy you receive. If you’re Team Mystic, for example, you should earn more Fusion Energy from raids held in gyms currently owned by Mystic, and even more if you complete a raid with a friend. Looking at The Silph Road subreddit, we saw the amount fluctuate between 100 and 170.

If you have a ticket to Go Fest 2024: Global (or if you did, depending on when you’re reading this), there’s another way to earn Solar or Lunar Fusion Energy through the Special Research quest released on the second day (Sunday, July 14) of the event. Since this is a branching quest, you’ll need to decide which type of Fusion Energy you want to earn. However, your choice also grants you the chance to catch a Solgaleo or Lunala, which you can then use to fuse with Necrozma.

Finally, Niantic has released a number of codes that will offer Solar or Lunar Fusion Energy in the run-up to Go Fest 2024 if more than 2,000 people follow the official Pokémon Go Instagram account per day. You can find the released codes on our Pokémon Go promo codes page.

The Shared Skies season and Go Fest 2024: Global are here! Ticket holders can also catch a Marshadow in the Go Fest 2024: A Shadowy Caper quest and complete The Dusk Settles! In the meantime, The Dawn of a New Discovery is available for everyone to enjoy. Don’t forget to redeem codes for Solar and Lunar Fusion Energy. There are new Moongeist Beam and Sunsteel Strike adventure effects to discover, as well as the chance to defeat Dawn Wings or Dusk Mane Necrozma. Don’t forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play while you hunt rare Pokémon, battle in the Go Battle League, or participate in PokéStop Showcases.

How to Separate Duskmane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma in Pokémon Go

Necrozma Duskmane and Necrozma Dawn Wings will remain fused together for the rest of time unless you decide to split them in Pokémon Go. This is incredibly useful because it means you don’t have to spend a good amount of Necromza and Cosmog Candy every time you want to use the Fusion, but it can get a bit complicated if you want to use Necrozma, Solgaleo, or Lunala as individual Pokémon. Thankfully, the process of splitting Necrozma Duskmane or Necrozma Dawn Wings into two Pokémon is once again incredibly simple.

Simply check the summary for Necrozma Duskmane / Dawn Wings in your Pokémon Storage and scroll down to the “Split” button, which is located above the “Power Up” option. Tapping it will bring up a quick summary of the Pokémon you’ll receive from the unmerge and their CP levels. All you have to do is select “Yes” and the Pokémon will revert to their original form.
