Map update
Splish-Splash Whelp had to take a short break, but he’s now unlocked in Standard, in Summer Form, and ready to take advantage of the launch of Perils in Paradise.
- Old: (2 Mana) 1/1
- New: (3 mana) 3/2
This card will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks after patch 30.0.
Base Set Updates
Perils in Paradise promises breathtaking vistas, including six new locations that can open early if you meet the requirements. But building a new complex requires a lot of construction (and a lot of demolition), which is why we brought back the Demolition Renovator to the free base set in Patch 30.0, with plans to keep it until the regular base set rotation at the start of the next Hearthstone year.
Additionally, the limited-time inclusion of Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater in the Base Set will end with the launch of Perils in Paradise on July 23, so this will be your last call to use them in Standard before they return to Wild-only play.
In-Game Event: Perils in Paradise
Once you’ve arrived at Marin and settled in, it’s time to head out and see what the resort has to offer! From July 30 to August 20, complete event quests to earn Event XP on the Special Event Reward Track. Complete the Reward Track to earn 6 Perils in Paradise Packs and the Icecream Sai Death Knight Hero Skin.
Battlegrounds Update
Friends are sticking around a little longer (until the next Battlegrounds season, in patch 30.2), so we’re continuing the fun with a returning tavern spell that lets you make even more friends:
Pair
(Level 5, 3 gold) Discover a friend.
Arena Updates
On July 16th, with Patch 30.0, all current Arenas will end and a new Arena Season will begin. To celebrate island hopping, the Dual-Class Arena is back! This season, Selected Draft Buckets are out and full expansions are back. You will still only be offered one Legendary card as the first card in your draft, and for this season, Class cards will appear approximately twice as often as before!
The eligible sets that will make up this Arena card pool are:
- Basic set
- Festival of Legends
- TITANS
- Showdown in the Badlands
- Whizbang’s Workshop
- The Perils of Paradise
Hearthstone: Tavern Music
The year-round festivities continue with even more sounds from the tavern. Hearthstone: Music from the Tavern – Volume 1, available with patch 30.0! Start your holiday off right with 50 iconic tracks from the Hearthstone game, available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube, and Deezer!
Artist: Uriah Voth
Bug fixes and game improvements
- (Hearthstone) “Temporary” has now become a keyword, meaning “this card will be discarded at the end of your turn”. This is primarily a text change only and will not change the functionality of the existing card.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where the Sandbox Scoundrel’s cost reduction effect would persist if the reduced card was countered.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where a Nostalgic Clown could never activate the effect of the Miniaturized Nostalgic Clown (for example, if the Nostalgic Clown was returned to hand and replayed while the mini was still in hand).
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where Galactic Projection Orb could choose itself for the 10-mana spell, but then fail to resolve it, causing no 10-mana spells to trigger.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where newly created copies of Floppy Hydra were not being drawn by Sharp-Eyed Seeker.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where the Celestial Ink set would trigger when the enemy cast spells.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where Wickerclaw’s effect would activate when the enemy gained attack.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where Scourge Supplies would not work properly with cards whose effects triggered immediately when drawn.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where magnetic minions receiving spell damage would not carry over the effect when magnetized.
- (Hearthstone) Fixed a bug where the immunity tooltip was incomplete.
- (Hearthstone) Updated text on Lab Patron and Molten Giant to more accurately reflect their effects.
- (Twist) Fixed a bug where Thorim’s Hero Power could be permanently upgraded.
- (Twist) Updated the interaction between Xyrella and Tamsin so that Tamsin’s second life does not prevent Xyrella from winning if she purifies her shard.
- (Battlegrounds) In Duos, the first person in combat (either you or your partner) will no longer systematically switch sides every turn. You can always see the upcoming combat order on the scoreboard on the left side.
- (Battlegrounds) Fixed a bug where cards like Defiant Shipwright and Whelp Smuggler would only trigger once if they got the same trigger condition twice at the same time (like if you had two copies of Timecap’n Hooktail in play and played a spell).
- (Battlegrounds) Fixed a bug where the Taunting Shipwright’s effect would not trigger if his attack was upgraded while he was in the tavern (on Bob’s side of the board, before purchasing him).
- (Battlegrounds) Fixed a bug where you could sometimes finish a Battlegrounds solo game and then select Duos for your next game.
- (Battlegrounds) Fixed a bug where Feisty Freshwater would not work with Millhouse’s Hero Power Manastorm.
- (Shop) Fixed a bug where in-game gold purchases were blocked for some players.
- (Single Player Content) Fixed a bug where Dalaran Heist and Tombs of Terror would ignore the player’s deck selection.
- (Social) Fixed a bug where some mobile devices would cause crashes when using the in-game chat feature.
- (Cosmetics) Fixed bugs with Ulfar and Blood Queen Lana’thel’s Heroic Power animations.
- Various other bug fixes and game improvements.
