Kim and Khloé Kardashian took Mumbai by storm this weekend, attending the star-studded wedding of billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in flamboyant style.
Estimated to cost around $600 million, the Indian wedding attracted celebrities including Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra and John Cena as well as the Kardashians.
While the bride sported one extravagant outfit after another — including an intricately embellished Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga for Friday’s wedding ceremony — Kardashian kept her cool with seven-figure jewels from celebrity favorite Lorraine Schwartz.
On Friday, the 43-year-old Skims founder kicked things off with a scarlet Manish Malhotra lehenga trimmed with tassels and covered from top to bottom in intricate beading.
While the look may have been in keeping with the happy couple’s request for guests to dress in “traditional Indian attire,” some took issue with Kardashian’s decision to wear red, a color typically reserved for the bride at Indian weddings.
To complete her look, the mother-of-four wore over 150 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, including two stunning necklaces: one with a 35-carat marquise-cut stone suspended from a 55-carat chain, the other suspended with a 23-carat pear-cut diamond on a 40-carat chain.
Her hand jewellery featured an 8-carat Moval diamond, a 10-carat antique pear-cut diamond and a 5-carat square-cut diamond, while her 28-carat maang tikka headpiece was studded with multiple pear-shaped diamonds and drops.
Finally, each of Kardashian’s earrings featured two pear-shaped diamonds, one weighing 9 carats, the other 20 carats.
Khloe, 40, looked as good as gold as she posed next to Kim in her own Manish Malhotra two-piece look and Lorraine Schwartz jewels – but the party was only just beginning.
On Saturday, Kim upped the ante at the billionaire’s blessing reception, sporting a dusty peach brocade lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani adorned with delicate threads and Swarovski crystals.
She dazzled in a necklace adorned with 170 carats of diamonds, featuring a series of hanging pear-shaped stones.
Along with a diamond and pearl maang tikka finished with an 8-carat pear-shaped drop, Kardashian wore pearl and diamond briolette earrings totaling 62 carats.
But the pièce de résistance was Kardashian’s nose ring, or nath, made of 70 carats of antique-cut diamonds connecting her nostril and ear.
Khloé, meanwhile, paired her hot pink lehenga and Hermès Kelly clutch with 250 carats of pink and white diamonds and pearls designed by Schwartz, including a pair of necklaces, a hand cuff and a headpiece.
Kim perhaps saved her most unique look for Sunday’s Mangal Utsav reception, opting for a “flame orange” Gaurav Gupta Couture ensemble accessorized with massive Colombian emeralds.
Her necklace, which she wore as a headdress, was set with more than 400 carats of bright green gemstones, while her earrings featured 100-carat pear-shaped drops.
She completed her look with a 10-carat oil-free Colombian emerald ring and a matching 60-carat hand jewelry.
Long associated with rebirth and fertility, emeralds are a popular choice for Indian weddings, and the Ambanis’ is no exception.
The groom’s mother, Nita, set the tone for the festivities right from the start with her choice of necklace for the couple’s pre-wedding party in March: a diamond-studded necklace suspended from two brick-sized emeralds.
