New Apple Immersive Video series, movies, concerts and more will premiere on Apple Vision Pro starting July 18
Apple Vision Pro users will discover breathtaking series, movies and more, spanning action-adventure, documentaries, music, scripted, sports and travel
Starting this week, Apple is introducing all-new series and movies captured in Apple Immersive Video that will launch exclusively on Apple Vision Pro. Apple Immersive Video is a remarkable storytelling format that leverages 8K 3D video with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio to transport viewers into the action.
Without Bordersa new series that invites viewers to experience unique journeys wherever they may be, will premiere at 6 p.m. PT today, July 18, with “Hot Air Balloons.” The next episode of WildlifeThe nature documentary series that gives viewers an up-close look at some of the planet’s most charismatic creatures will premiere in August. Pupilan aerial travel series that takes viewers to iconic vistas from dizzying heights, will launch in September.
Later this year, users will be able to enjoy special performances featuring the world’s biggest artists, starting with an immersive experience from The Weeknd; Apple Immersive’s first scripted short film, Overwhelmedwritten and directed by Academy Award winner Edward Berger; a behind-the-scenes and on-court look at the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend; and Big wave surfingthe first part of a new sports series with Red Bull.

This is the next generation of visual storytelling, and we’re excited to bring it to more people around the world.”
Without Borders
With Without BordersIn “Hot Air Balloons,” viewers embark on journeys they never dreamed of and meet inspiring people in extraordinary places. In “Hot Air Balloons,” viewers soar above the otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia, Turkey. In the upcoming episode, “Arctic Surfing,” coming this fall, viewers will be whisked away by a group of intrepid surfers who have set up camp in a frigid region north of the Arctic Circle in search of winter waves.
Wildlife
In August, Apple released the second episode of Wildlifewhich takes viewers to Kenya’s Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where orphaned elephants find a home in the care of their keepers, frolic in foamy mud baths and form a chosen family with their human companions and the wild elephants that roam the lands beyond. Later this year, viewers will take on a daring group of divers in the Bahamas, who come face-to-face with predators at the top of the food chain and discover creatures far more complex than often portrayed.
Pupil
In the inaugural episode of Pupilan aerial travel series set to air in September, will take viewers over volcanoes, climb waterfalls and discover unimagined natural wonders across the world’s longest island chain, Hawaii. In the next episode, available later this year, viewers will experience a crisp fall in New England, with a breathtaking journey along winding coastlines and over breathtakingly beautiful rivers.
Overwhelmed
Overwhelmedthe first scripted short film captured in Apple immersive video, will premiere this fall. Set during World War II, the action-adventure story takes viewers aboard a submarine as the ship’s sailors struggle to survive a deadly torpedo attack. Written and directed by Academy Award winner Edward Berger, Overwhelmed showcases the unique storytelling capabilities that are only possible with Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro.
2024 NBA All-Star Weekend
This fall, basketball fans will enjoy a unique perspective on the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis with an immersive short film featuring rising stars, the Slam Dunk Contest, the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge featuring Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry, and the All-Star Game.
An immersive experience of The Weeknd
Apple Music Award-winning and seven-time diamond-certified artist The Weeknd returns to the spotlight with an immersive experience coming exclusively to Apple Vision Pro later this year.
Red Bull: Big Wave Surfing
Viewers will feel the power of the ocean like never before as elite surfers attempt to ride the world’s most powerful wave off the remote coast of Teahupo’o, Tahiti. The film is shooting this summer and will be available later this year.
Empowering filmmakers with new tools for immersive video from Apple
Apple and Blackmagic Design will enable professional filmmakers to bring their creative visions to life with a new workflow for Apple Immersive Video, featuring an all-new Blackmagic camera, URSA Cine Immersive, and updated versions of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Apple Compressor. This comprehensive toolkit, available later this year, will help deliver even more immersive movies and TV shows to Apple Vision Pro users around the world.
More series, films, concerts and sporting events captured in Apple Immersive Video will be released this year.
