This summer, on June 28, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will debut at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Currently, the ride is being previewed by cast members, with annual passholder previews beginning June 13.

When Splash Mountain fans first learned that Br’er Rabbit would no longer be a part of the attraction, many were heartbroken due to the nostalgic value of the attraction since its inception in 1989. However, with The princess and the Frog replace people who are insensitive to racism Song of the South IP, fans are looking forward to significant improvements, including advanced animatronics, new music, and an improved experience.

In the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, guests will explore the next chapter in Tiana’s story, which follows her success at Tiana’s Palace Restaurant. Walt Disney Imagineering presents a captivating tale of Tiana’s ongoing entrepreneurial journey, spotlighting her latest venture, Tiana’s Foods.

This employee-owned cooperative combines Tiana’s culinary skills with the talents of her community, located in a former salt mine. With the help of her mother, Eudora, Naveen, Louis, and other members of the cooperative, the once-idle mine now thrives as a garden providing fresh ingredients for Tiana’s recipes.

The site also includes a working kitchen where Tiana and her team are developing new products, including a variety of original hot sauces (which will hopefully lead to new food options in the area!).

During the Mardi Gras season, guests are invited to join in the festive preparations. However, an incident while planning the party leads to an interactive adventure as the guests help Tiana find the missing ingredient for her celebration.

The ride will feature new music and characters, continuing the story beyond the original. The princess and the Frog movie.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the first major addition to Magic Kingdom, preceding Beyond Big Thunder plans and the $60 billion expansion announced by Bob Iger. At the D23 2022 event, during the Parks and Experiences panel, it was mentioned that Disney World would see new additions, including a “Blue Sky” concept for a “Dark Kingdom” at the Magic Kingdom, dedicated to Disney villains.

Following the Country Bear Jamboree press release and hints from Disney Imagineering of a life beyond Big Thunder, fans are speculating that major changes are on the horizon. Iger aims to increase the park’s capacity, and an expansion of Magic Kingdom would go a long way toward reducing overcrowding in the park.

Disney has already released a full POV video of the attraction, featuring Tiana, Naveen, Louis the Alligator, Mama Odie, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, Big Daddy, the King and Queen of Maldonia and although it has positive reviews, as Inside the Magic shared, there are also many more negative reviews.

For example, reviews we’ve shared include: “This ride has all the problems of the modern imagination. Expensive animatronics replace well-populated stages, with lots of dead space and nothing to look at.

Too sanitized a story, with no drama or conflicting tension” and “That’s the best way to describe it, I couldn’t figure out what was bothering me but it’s that there’s a lot of dead space where Splash felt rich throughout the story. thing.

There’s this whole Brer Fox surveillance thing, there’s songs everywhere that say be careful, and then at the end you realize you got away. Idk, I feel disappointed by this ride.

Sharp-eyed fans of The Princess and the Frog also noticed a key character missing from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: Dr. Facilier, the film’s Shadowman villain. While almost every other main character makes an appearance in one form or another, Dr. Facilier seems conspicuously absent from the final experience of the ride, which makes sense given that the storyline takes place after his death.

However, with voodoo and magic, bringing back Facilier would always be a possibility, he owns the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has proven that coming back from the dead is still on the table.

Fan account Splash Mountain Archives shared a video showing fire alarms currently going off on the attraction. It’s unclear what exactly went wrong and if there was an actual fire on the attraction at the time, however, the ride was closed and was evacuated. The ride was evacuated a bit during previews, according to online posts.

“A fire alarm is currently going off at Bayou Adventure. Interrupted previews »

Splash Mountain Archives then said that previews had been officially canceled for the night.

“Bayou Adventure is now unavailable for the rest of the night. All previews have been canceled.

It was not clear whether the closed rides would continue until tomorrow’s previews.

Below, Jonas J. Campbell, shared an example of one of today’s many “live releases”: “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had several “live releases” today. The ride keeps breaking down and guests have to be escorted by actors (with working lights on). Thanks to a channel called Farmeritaville for this footage which confirms what I was hearing.”

While these issues may seem alarming, the ride is not officially open yet, so issues are surely expected. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open in Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort on June 28, 2024.
