Theme of the season
As the Nephalem reflect on the history of the Sanctuary, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those who are persistent enough to seek them out with unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once again in the present, and you must decide how best to use these gifts, for ethereal power is fleeting by nature and will soon be nothing more than a myth.
For this seasonal theme, we had the idea to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons returning from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and ephemeral items.
Season 32 reintroduces Ethereala type of weapon that players will be able to acquire and hunt during their next seasonal journey. Ethereals will cast a powerful set of affixes, a random spell Legendary Class Weapon Power and a coincidence Passive Class PowerEthereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For more details on Ethereals, see the list below:
- Ethereals are account-bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructible objects, but do not require your character to be level 70 to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai’s Cube or from Kadala.
- The drop rate for Ethereal rarities is set between Ancient and Primal items.
- There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and casts a random legendary weapon power and a random class passive ability.
- Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time.
- Aetherians ignore item durability loss.
- Legendary powers and class passive skills cast on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped via Kanai’s cube, items, or skills.
- Ethereals cannot be enchanted, transmogrified, dyed, reforged, or traded.
- Aetherians can be increased.
- By collecting all 21 Ethereals throughout the season, players will be rewarded with the Ethereal Memory Force Feat. Players who accomplish this will have all ethereal transmog options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal playthroughs.
- Ethereals only appear in seasonal play and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character at the end of the season.

Seasonal Cosmetic Rewards
Starting in Season 17, we began reintroducing previous seasonal rewards to make them available to players who missed them the first time around. For Season 32, this means that rewards initially available from Season 8 return to the seasonal path.
However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous seasons. We continue to offer new end-of-journey rewards, like those introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entire season course. Feast your eyes on the Portrait frame of warrior Teganze And Pet Bat!
In addition to the boot and pants slots from the exclusive Conqueror set, you can earn a series of portrait frames that burn with the demonic fires of the Burning Underworld. Andariel’s iconic wings will also be available again, allowing you to truly embrace the Maiden of Anguish within you.

Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the class sets rewarded for completing certain chapters of the Seasonal Journey (thanks to Haedrig’s Gift) have changed again. We’ve listed the available sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s gifts. Each gift contains a few pieces from one of your class sets. Players can only unlock one class set this way per season, in both hardcore and non-hardcore modes, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you play as when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To get a full class set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
- Barbaric – The Call of the Immortal King
- Cross – Seeker of Light
- Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Revenge
- Monk – Uliana’s ploy
- Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s avatar
- Wizard – Spirit of Arachyr
- Magician – The incredible arcana of Vyr
