It seems that confrontation is the new black:such are the times. Samsung and Apple, two of the most famous rivals of the moment, have entered the octagon for a new round.
This time around, Samsung made some sort of illegal move, which inflamed fans left and right: hey, even Galaxy fans were unhappy with the way the South Korean giant condemned its Cupertino counterpart.
Things got so bad that people criticized Samsung after the company called out Apple several times.
Samsung faced the major backlash after mocking Apple for its slow adoption of features like customizable app icons and AI integration. Many found Samsung’s criticism hypocritical, given its history of emulating Apple’s business strategies and product designs, such as the AirPods Pro-like Galaxy Buds Pro 3.
Rivalry is not always sweet.
Public reaction has been overwhelmingly negative, with critics calling Samsung’s marketing approach immature and pointless. As my colleague Martin puts it:
Samsung has not only tried, but managed to successfully imitate Apple’s business model. At least when it comes to the Galaxy S series (but not in terms of revenue).
There is no such thing as a perfect phone, brand, or person. Keep that in mind as you write this article.
Battery and charging: much progress to be made
I’ll never forget how the Galaxy S24 Ultra was placed with another phone in a freezer for several days at -7 Fahrenheit (about -22°C).
In this breathtaking confrontation (that’s the appropriate synonym for “breathtaking,” given the context), the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the other phone were placed in the freezer with 59% charge each.
After 48 hours, the S24 Ultra had completely drained its battery, while the other retained an impressive 33% charge.
But the real highlight of this phone? After five days in the freezer, the challenger was still performing well with over 10% battery remaining. Truly remarkable performance! What phone are we talking about here? Well, it’s the Honor Magic 6 Pro!
Things went well for the Honor Magic 6 Pro!
How is this possible? It is thanks to the second-generation silicon-carbon battery of the Magic 6 series, which promises superior performance, especially at low temperatures.
While we’re on the subject of batteries, let’s not forget the recently unveiled OnePlus Ace 3 Pro and its Glacier battery.
The Ace 3 Pro is powered by a 6,100mAh battery, which is said to dynamically adjust the charging currency within a reasonable range, minimizing the occurrence of dead lithium while maintaining the maximum charging current, thus ensuring healthier battery life and faster charging speed.
Are you taking notes, Samsung?
And also the loading speeds!
Hey Samsung, I’m not trying to say anything. am I say it. Well, I’m not going to say it. Instead, I’m just going to let this sink in:
You get the hint, don’t you?
No more excuses for cameras

What you photograph matters withbut what’s far more important is what you photograph. Yes, people, I’m talking about things like subject, composition, concept, lighting, colors, tone, emotion and all the rest. That’s what makes a good photo, not billions of pixels, razor-sharp details and 100% correct color tones.
That being said, it’s true that Samsung sells some incredible cameras, especially in its Galaxy S line. Galaxy S24 Ultrafor example the fox, is a beast that will not disappoint you.
However, times are changingIt’s 2024 and the options are many: Huawei, OnePlus, Xiaomi: they all have a thing or two to say about mobile photography. And they say it in a clear, bold and unapologetic voice.
Main cameras with 1-inch sensors (which translates to much better low-light capabilities), variable apertures (fine-tuned image control), dual telephoto lenses (also with large sensors), cutting-edge ultra-wide cameras… Once you dive down the rabbit hole of Far Eastern smartphones, you’ll be surprised at how much photographic innovation is there.
For example, my Oppo Find X7 Ultra took over my dedicated camera a few months ago and made it redundant.
Let the (bold) design do the talking

I like the way that Galaxy S24 Ultra Appearance: #sorrynotsorry. However, when it comes to Samsung’s mid-range devices, it’s safe to say that they’re… well, a little too Samsung-esque. There’s nothing wrong with building brand recognition, but ultimately, it’s your freedom that suffers.
Why not try something different for a change? Carl Pei’s Nothing brand is proof that people are fascinated by weird-looking cell phones.
Hello to the Void Phone (2)!
Let’s make foldable objects great again

We are just days away from the official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Again, these are the phones that the majority of users will remember when you say the codename “foldable phone.”
But for how long ?
How long will it take for OnePlus to release another foldable? Given that the OnePlus Open is one of our absolute favorites here at PhoneArena (and a hit with users), its second version should be even better. “Best” equals “best sellers.” A “best seller” OnePlus Open 2 equals “trouble for Samsung.”
Let’s not forget the upcoming Honor Magic V3 which might just be the thinnest foldable phone ever! Currently, Honor claims that its Magic V2 is the world’s thinnest inward-folding phone. It’s both thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at 9.9mm and 231g. So it’s interesting to see how much thinner the V3 can get!
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is also expected to be less than 10mm when folded. That’s crazy!
All of this means that Samsung needs to focus on being a frontrunner in the foldable race. It needs to give people reasons to stick with the Galaxy Z lineup, because the competition from OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Honor is just too tempting.
Never let success go to your head
Samsung may be a victim of its own success. Like it or not, the Galaxy S24 lineup has proven to be a success. As I’ve pointed out before, even people who don’t usually follow mobile technology that closely have been excited about this product.
THE Galaxy S24 Ultra It’s a beautiful phone, no doubt about it.
Is it perfect? No.
That’s because Samsung is not perfect. Not being perfect is not a problem. The problem is act perfectly.
